Initial accreditation of the VALEO power train systems EMX Laboratory

Laboratories

The laboratory associated with GEEDS (Valeo Group Electronics Expertise & Development Services), part of the Valeo Group and located at Cergy (Val d’Oise), has since 18 July 2018 been accredited as per standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (No. 1-6444) for conducting electromagnetic compatibility tests on emissions and immunity in the automotive sector.

On 25 October, Sébastien Laborde, Cofrac Communication/Promotion Director, presented Pascal Carouge, Laboratory Manager, with his accreditation diploma, certifying the excellence of the laboratory and the commitment of his staff.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is an increasingly important phenomenon in the automotive sector, considering the challenges facing equipment manufacturers and car makers: electric vehicles, connected vehicles and self-driving vehicles. Technological developments mean more and more electronics in vehicles, and the increasing complexity of EMC-related issues.
In order to have confidence in the quality of the results obtained, car makers are demanding that their test service providers should be accredited by an accreditation body that is signatory to the mutual recognition arrangements drawn up internationally.

The Cergy laboratory thus becomes the fourth accredited EMC laboratory of the Group, after those in Troy – USA / Créteil – France / Shenzhen – China. VALEO is engaged in a process aimed at getting accreditation for all its EMC laboratories by 2021, with a pooled quality management system for increased efficiency.
