Accreditation of the first French verifier to verify CO2 emissions reports from shipping companies

Less than four months after the publication by the European Commission of the delegated regulations, Cofrac has accredited the first verifier in France for the assessment of the monitoring plans and the verification of the CO2 emissions declarations in the maritime transport sector (EU 2015 Regulation / 757).

VERIFAVIA SARL can now offer an accredited service to shipping companies.

In order to implement this system, Cofrac has been responsive while respecting a robust accreditation process to demonstrate the competence of the organization.

Accreditation of this new regulatory area was issued after an assessment at the headquarters of the verifier and a witness by the Cofrac of the verifier carrying out at the client's site the assessment of the monitoring plan and then the verification of CO2 emissions data first game that would be subject to reporting.
